Job Description
Major Projects Manager

We are seeking an experienced Major Projects Manager to lead the safe, compliant, high-quality and profitable delivery of major construction projects across the UK.

This is a pivotal role with full accountability for site readiness, installation management, quality control, and progress validation. Acting as the primary operational lead on-site, you will ensure projects are delivered in line with contractual obligations, agreed programmes, quality standards, and approved budgets.

You will play a key role in protecting project margin by preventing reattendance, quality defects, delays, and handover disputes - while ensuring accurate monthly applications for payment are prepared and supported by verified site progress and quality documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesOffice-Based Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day management of the Major Projects delivery function

  • Act as the primary operational contact for all Major Projects

  • Provide first-line escalation for site-related operational and quality issues

  • Liaise with production and logistics teams to resolve delivery or installation constraints

  • Monitor project progress through installation to completion

  • Maintain accurate CRM and ERP records to support forecasting, cash flow and audits

  • Monitor and mitigate installation-driven margin erosion

  • Maintain project trackers, quality logs and dashboards

  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly applications for payment

  • Provide supporting documentation including progress records, quality checks, and sign-off records

  • Support resolution of payment queries and quality-related disputes

Site-Based Responsibilities
  • Attend sites for surveys, site measures and pre-start inspections

  • Confirm site readiness, access, storage and prerequisite works

  • Identify and formally communicate site constraints

  • Support production of RAMS documentation

  • Manage on-site installation in line with contractual and quality standards

  • Enforce installation quality standards

  • Record inspections, corrective actions and ensure defects are resolved prior to handover

About You

We're looking for a confident, commercially aware project leader with strong technical expertise and a hands-on approach to site delivery.

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Proven experience managing Major Projects within construction or façade sectors

  • Strong site-based delivery and quality control experience

  • Experience inspecting, validating and signing off installed works

  • SMSTS and CSCS certification

Desirable
  • ADSA BS/EN Standards Authorised Technician (training available if required)

What's Required
  • National travel and overnight stays as needed
