Job Description
A well-established organisation is seeking a Maintenance Technician Supervisor to join their London-based facilities team. You'll lead a maintenance team, overseeing day-to-day maintenance and ensuring high standards are maintained across a busy multi-site portfolio.
What you'll do:
- Lead and manage a team of 5-6 Maintenance Technicians across a multi-site London portfolio.
- Remain hands-on around 60% of the time, supporting the team with day-to-day maintenance tasks.
- Carry out general handyman and fabric maintenance including minor plumbing, minor electrical works, painting, decorating and moving furniture.
- Travel between multiple London sites throughout the day, with the team responsible for around 15 buildings.
- Manage incoming maintenance requests through a ticketing system and ensure jobs are completed efficiently.
- Identify when works need specialist support and coordinate with external contractors where required.
- Manage team performance, onboarding, development and day-to-day people matters.
- Handle difficult conversations confidently when needed and provide clear guidance and support to the team.
- Report into the Maintenance Manager and work closely with the wider maintenance team.
What you bring:
- Strong hands-on general maintenance/handyman experience rather than an engineering-focused background.
- Around 2-3+ year's experience leading or supervising a maintenance team.
- Comfortable balancing hands-on maintenance with people management responsibilities.
- Experience working across multiple sites, ideally within a large hotel, property, workplace or similarly fast-paced environment.
- Practical knowledge of minor plumbing, minor electrical works, painting/decorating and general building maintenance.
- Confident managing a team of Maintenance Technicians and supporting their development.
- Comfortable dealing with performance issues and having difficult conversations when required.
- Able to manage multiple maintenance requests and priorities across different locations.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, personable approach.
