Mechanical Maintenance Fitter (Plant) - Tarmac Cross Green Asphalt Plant - Leeds

Hours: 48 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 06:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday plus overtime (some nights and weekend work)

What you'll be doing

• Lead planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to minimise downtime
• Diagnose faults across conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, crushers and screening equipment
• Carry out breakdown repairs quickly and safely to keep production on track
• Support continuous improvement and root cause analysis
• Undertake welding and fabrication work to a strong standard
• Own small projects and improve plant reliability
• Work with contractors and suppliers on site
• Use CMMS systems to record maintenance activity
• Champion Health & Safety and safe working practices at all times

What we're looking for

• Experience within heavy industry, plant or manufacturing environments
• Strong skills in fault finding and mechanical repairs
• Confidence working on bearings, drives and rotating equipment
• Welding and fabrication capability
• Comfortable using maintenance systems and basic IT tools
• A proactive mindset with a strong focus on safety and performance
• Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship (preferred)
• ONC/HNC (advantageous)
