Maintenance Operative

Role: Maintenance Operative (Midlands Areas)- Travel requirements in the area of Warwickshire and TamworthFull Time: 40 Hours per weekContract type: PermanentSalary: £27,966.98 - £32,905.60 per annum depending on experience.Requirements:Qualifications in recognised trade, e.g. City & GuildsKnowledge of general maintenance relating to buildings, mechanical and electrical services, decoration, plumbing and gardeningTime served experienced Tradesman and all-round experience in a number of tradesManual handling techniques and Health & Safety in the workplaceKnowledge of use of power tools and other general maintenance equipmentHold a full driving licence.As a Maintenance Operative you will:Liaise with the Registered Manager/Headteacher/Head of Estates regarding maintenance work to be carried outUndertake general repairs and maintenance around the sites, inside and out, including plastering, basic joinery, decorating, repairs on furnishings and buildings, including woodwork, and gardening etc. to ensure a safe and well cared for environment is maintainedRespond effectively to all urgent maintenance and repair tasks as they ariseTo undertake various regular statutory checks including Asbestos visual check, fire alarm weekly and periodic tests, water checks etc to ensure the Home/School remains fully compliantSupervise all external contractors ensuring that all necessary procedures and policies are adhered toUnderstand and ensure the implementation of the health and safety policy, emergency and fire proceduresReport any faulty appliances, damaged furniture or equipment and any potential hazard to the Head of Estates/Registered Manager/Headteacher
