Maintenance Officer CW2962

Location: Crawley

Salary: £27,785 - £30,364 per annum, plus £610.08 Crawley Weighting Allowance per annum.

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across College buildings.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in a safe and timely manner.
  • Complete maintenance tasks allocated via the College helpdesk system.
  • Support statutory compliance inspections relating to electrical systems and building services.
  • Liaise with and supervise external contractors working on electrical installations and repairs.
  • Assist the Estates team with emergency light testing, drain downs, and associated repairs.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with current electrical regulations and safe working practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of works completed, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Support minor project works and campus improvements as required.
Working Hours

Mon - Fri 8:00 - 16:30 (Mon-Thu), 8:00 - 16:00 (Fri)

Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Electrical Maintenance
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition (BS 7671)

We are looking for a qualified and experienced electrical professional with a strong background in building maintenance or electrical installation. You should be a proactive, reliable, and hands on technician with strong fault finding skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and a flexible approach to workload and priorities are essential. Experience within an educational or public sector environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
