Maintenance Manager luxury hotel

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to join our team at our luxury hotel. This full-time role is ideal for a proactive and hands on individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining the highest standards.

As part of the management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel's facilities, equipment, and grounds are consistently maintained to an exceptional level, supporting both operational excellence and an outstanding guest experience.

Location: Cong, Co. Mayo

Employment type: Full Time

Working pattern: 5 Days over 7 Days (including weekends and some Public Holidays)

Key Responsibilities as an Maintenance Manager:
  • To assist the Estate Maintenance Manager in maintaining all areas of the hotel to the highest possible standards
  • Lead and manage the hotel's maintenance function, ensuring a proactive, efficient, and compliant maintenance system is in place
  • Monitor and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring costs are controlled and targets achieved
  • Negotiate and manage service contracts with suppliers and contractors, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation
  • Manage waste control systems in line with environmental legislation and best practice
  • Take a hands on approach to maintenance duties, supporting the team as required
  • Implement and maintain effective reporting systems, including call out logs and staff tracking processes
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety procedures across all maintenance operations
  • Coordinate purchasing and inventory for maintenance supplies, ensuring adherence to company procedures
  • Conduct routine checks on fire safety equipment (monthly) and emergency lighting systems (quarterly), taking corrective action where required
  • Liaise with senior management and Accommodation on refurbishment, upgrades, and preventative maintenance programmes
  • Plan and prioritise daily, weekly, and long term maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to operations
  • Contribute to the strategic improvement of the hotel's physical assets, including buildings, plant, machinery, and grounds
What are we looking for?
  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally within a luxury hospitality environment
  • Demonstrate strong technical expertise (electrical/mechanical background preferred) and a flexible, hands on approach to all aspects of hotel maintenance
  • Be available for call outs and adaptable to the operational needs of a luxury hotel environment
  • A relevant trade qualification or certification (desirable)
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
  • Good organisational and leadership abilities
  • A team player with strong communication skills and a customer focused approach
