Maintenance Manager

Are you an experienced Workshop Maintenance Manager looking for your next permanent position? Is Duckinfield, Tameside an area you are happy commuting to for work? Does a salary paying up to £55,000 dependant on experience work for you? Do you have hands on experience working with guillotines, drills, and band saws in a workshop environment? Happy doing fault diagnosis in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gearbox, motor, pump, fan, compressor systems, conveyors and extraction systems? Can you lead a team of six, showing strong leadership skills? Do you have strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work? Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules for all plant, machinery, and site services.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults in a timely manner.
  • Minimise plant and production downtime through rapid fault diagnosis and effective repair strategies.
  • Project manage new installations and the modification or upgrade of existing equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation.
  • Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and availability.
  • Management & Leadership
    • Lead, supervise, and develop a maintenance team of six personnel and manage external contractors.
    • Allocate workloads, set priorities, and ensure maintenance activities align with production requirements.
    • Support training and ongoing skills development within the maintenance team.
    • Take responsibility for maintenance budgets, contractor costs, and spare parts control.
Qualifications
  • Hands on experience working with guillotines, drills, and band saws in a workshop environment.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and sheet metal work.
  • Fault diagnosis in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gearbox, motor, pump, fan, compressor systems, conveyors and extraction systems.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance systems and maintenance planning.
  • Strong mechanical and basic electrical fault finding capability.
  • Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
Location & Salary

Location: Duckinfield, Tameside. Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 (dependent on experience).
