Maintenance Fitter - Electrical

• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems and machinery
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment
• Install, maintain, and test electrical systems and components
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and manuals
• Carry out emergency breakdown repairs to minimise downtime
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety regulations (e.g. Electricity at Work Regulations)
• Work with mechanical fitters and other engineers to resolve issues
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within industrial or manufacturing environments
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of PLC systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley) is often preferred
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
• Good understanding of health & safety practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering or similar (e.g. NVQ Level 3)
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) - desirable or required
• Apprenticeship in electrical engineering - highly valued
• City & Guilds qualifications or equivalent

• Typically based in factories, plants, or industrial sites
• May involve shift work, on-call duties, or overtime
• Work may include exposure to noise, machinery, and confined spaces
