ResponsibilitiesResponsible for effective and efficient activities in repairing all machinery to National Standards. These include Planned Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Equipment reliability, and using the CMMS system for the maintenance department. The role involves optimizing equipment reliability through continuous improvement and embodying Magnera's values regarding Safety and Training.
- Perform all tasks safely, ensuring safety on the job at all times, and take responsibility for the safety of others on the manufacturing floor, warehouse, and support areas.
- Be aware of IEEE, BS7671 Wiring Regulations, Electricity at Work regulations, and all safety rules related to electrical work, ensuring safe working practices are always followed.
- Provide vision, goals, coaching, and priorities to ensure safety, quality, customer service, and cost objectives are achieved within the engineering and reliability functions.
- Manage facility maintenance to ensure optimal operation of all systems in the plant and warehouse.
- Use the CMMS program to enhance the reliability of manufacturing and ancillary systems.
- Contribute energy to the Preventive Maintenance schedule to create a 'best in class' environment.
- Seek alternatives to control and reduce spending, promote improvement ideas, and complete tasks on time and within budget.
- Support the production shift supervisor in reacting to breakdowns efficiently and effectively.
- Be competent in using workshop machinery like lathes and milling machines or be willing to learn.
- Carry out day-to-day duties as assigned by the maintenance manager, ensuring compliance.
- Promote excellence in reliability engineering, predictive, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Be responsible for plant facilities and ancillary services.
- Be flexible with work hours, including overtime when needed.
- Support project work as required.
- Maintain records of faults and projects accurately.
- Perform fault diagnostics on electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment.
- Apply logical problem-solving skills to develop solutions and options.
- Experience in using lathe and milling machines to produce tooling and parts such as bushes, shafts, and couplings.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and buy into company values and new regulations.

Must be mobile, work on shift, and be available for occasional overtime and travel, mainly for training purposes if needed.
Due to our location (CM9 4GG) and shift pattern, candidates must be a car driver/owner.
Shift pattern: 12-hour shifts from 6 am to 6 pm, 2 on / 2 off / 3 on / 2 off / 2 on / 3 off.
Holidays: 25 days plus 8 bank holidays per year (total 275 hours).
Pension: Matched to 7.5%.

Qualifications- Required: Maintenance engineering apprenticeship (Mech-elec/Elec-mech).
- Desired: HNC/ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Desired: 18th Edition wiring regulations.
- Minimum 5 years of related electrical/mechanical engineering or project experience.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- No agencies; the successful applicant must provide proof of right to work in the UK.
