Job Type: Full Time/Permanent
Hours: 40hrs per week
Monday to Friday - 7am - 3.30pm
Competitive Salary: £21.15 per hour - dependent on experience
Location: Nasmyth Bulwell LTD, Wharf Road, Industrial Estate, Pinxton, Nottinghamshire, NG16 6LE
We have an exciting opportunity at Nasmyth Bulwell as a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) within our growing team.
Purpose of the role and key accountabilities:
- Responsible for carrying out a wide variety of Electrical repairs, installations and maintenance tasks, including CNC, Programmable Logic controllers (PLC's), Hydraulics and Pneumatics, in order to ensure machines are operating to optimal functionality and to minimise machine downtime.
- Able to carry out Fitting, Welding, Fabrication, Plumbing and Joinery, where required, to ensure the site is well maintained at all times.
- Carry out weekly checks on compressors and monthly checks on emergency lighting across site.
- Able to operate and capture Balbar results and may also interpret and diagnose the results and make machine adjustments, to ensure machines are operating to optimum functionality and to minimise machine downtime.
- Where applicable, able to manage the coolant management procedures, including monitoring coolant strengths, logging results and running the dipstick programme, to ensure coolant is kept within the recommended company limits.
- Identify and address issues such as wiring defects, circuit malfunctions and component degradation.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety, ensuring guidelines are followed in accordance with the Company Health & Safety policy and legislative requirements.
- Working in accordance with the company's policies and goals in order to ensure consistency across the Business Unit structure.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior/apprentice technicians to build a skilled and capable maintenance team.
- Any other duties that may reasonably be required by the Company from time to time.
Core skills/attributes
- Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Electrical Technician) are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of aerospace electrical systems, avionics, and regulations. Good written and verbal communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external parties at all levels.
- Experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of aerospace electrical systems.
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, with guidance and supervision.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities within multidisciplinary teams.

- As a maintenance engineer in Nasmyth Group, the primary objective is to ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of electrical systems and components within the related equipment. By implementing rigorous maintenance procedures, conducting regular inspections, and staying up-to-date with industry standards, the aim is to minimize downtime, prevent failures, and contribute to the overall operational efficiency of all site systems.
