Bela Recruitment is currently hiring a Maintenance Engineer to work in a modern, highly automated manufacturing facility in Downpatrick, Co. Down.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Shift Engineer who enjoys hands-on fault finding, problem solving and keeping production machinery running at its best.

You'll join an established engineering team, maintaining a wide range of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC-controlled production equipment.

The Job

• Working as part of the shift engineering team, you will:
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production and processing machinery.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns, carrying out electrical and mechanical fault finding, diagnostics and repairs. Maintain and repair electromechanical, pneumatic and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Use the site's CMMS to record maintenance and engineering activity.
• Support production teams to maximise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
• Identify recurring faults and opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
• Assist with new equipment installations, modifications and process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement using Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys and 5S.
• Ensure all engineering work meets Health & Safety, food safety and quality standards.

What We're Looking For
Ideally, you will have:

• An Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC, OND, HNC or equivalent qualification.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience fault finding and repairing production or manufacturing machinery.
• Experience with PLCs, pneumatics and electromechanical equipment.
• Experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The company is ideally seeking around 5+ years' relevant maintenance experience.
Experience within food manufacturing, food processing or FMCG, would be useful, but isn't essential.
Most importantly, you should be a practical engineer who enjoys fault finding, solving problems and working as part of a multi-skilled engineering team.

Salary & Benefits
£40,000 - £44,500 basic salary + 11% Shift Bonus (Potential £50k+)
