Job Description

Join a market-leading food manufacturing company operating in a modern, high-tech production facility in Skelmersdale. We're seeking Electrical or Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineers to support a growing and well-structured engineering team.

This is not a firefighting role - you'll be part of a large, well-invested factory with healthy maintenance budgets, strong processes, and a supportive team ethos. The company actively invests in its people and equipment, with a clear focus on training, career progression, and future-focused engineering improvements.

Shift Pattern:

  • Panama Shifts - Days and Nights (12 hours) (3s & 2s) (2 weeks Days then 2 weeks Nights)

Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:

  • Deliver hands-on engineering support to keep production running smoothly
  • Perform both reactive and planned maintenance
  • Use CMMS system to record and track maintenance activities
  • Work closely with production to meet performance goals
  • Follow safety and repair best practices at all times
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
  • Be part of a collaborative, supportive engineering team with a strong culture of teamwork

What We're Looking For:

  • Time-served or apprenticeship-trained engineer
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 and BTEC, ONC/HNC preferred)
  • Strong electrical skillset
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
  • A positive, proactive mindset and a team player
  • Eagerness to grow, learn, and contribute to a forward-thinking engineering department
