Job Summary

They are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer to support site operations and ensure maximum equipment availability. Working on a 4 on 4 off permanent night shift, you will play a key role in planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of production machinery and automated systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults across production and packaging equipment
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve reliability
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and contribute to asset care strategies
  • Liaise with production and operations teams to minimise disruption and maximise output
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and food safety standards at all times
  • Participate in root cause analysis and long-term solutions for recurring issues
  • Contribute to engineering projects and equipment upgrades when required

Requirements

  • Time-served engineer with a recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, etc.)
  • Strong multi-skilled background (electrical bias preferred, but not essential)
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or food/FMCG environment
  • Good working knowledge of automated production lines, conveyors, packaging machinery, and associated systems
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment (Siemens/Allen Bradley advantageous)
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Flexible and reliable, with a hands-on approach to engineering challenges
