We're supporting a leading UK organisation through a major business transformation and are seeking an experienced M&A Programme Director to play a pivotal role in a high-profile separation programme.
This is a unique opportunity to lead the delivery and governance of technology services during a complex transition, ensuring operational continuity while supporting the successful separation of a significant business unit. You'll work across multiple technology domains, collaborating with senior stakeholders, service owners, vendors and commercial teams to deliver a structured and well-governed transition.
The RoleAs the M&A Programme Director, you will establish the governance framework for transition services, oversee service delivery throughout the transition period, manage commercial obligations and coordinate exit planning to enable a successful separation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Establishing governance, service management processes, KPIs, SLAs, and reporting frameworks.
- Leading the mobilisation and ongoing management of technology transition services.
- Working closely with internal technology teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure service commitments are met.
- Managing commercial and contractual obligations, including cost recovery and risk management.
- Identifying and mitigating operational, commercial and delivery risks.
- Developing and coordinating structured exit plans that support a clean separation while minimising residual costs.
- Providing regular updates to programme leadership and governance forums.
We're looking for an experienced technology leader with a strong background in M&A, business separations, or large-scale transformation programmes.
You'll bring:
- Demonstrable experience leading technology workstreams, at Director level, within M&A, carve-outs, separations or complex transformation programmes.
- A broad understanding of enterprise technology, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise applications and IT Service Management.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing service agreements, governance, and delivery against contractual commitments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a confidential and fast-paced environment.
- Experience within large, complex organisations.
