LOCUM COMMUNITY PHLEBOTOMIST PART-TIME BAND 2 £ £

Part time locum - Ellesmere Port - 2 months initially within the Ellesmere Port community team. The role is from Wednesday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00.

Your role will be to obtain blood samples from patients in the community in accordance with local policies and procedures. You will provide a safe blood collection service to patients in their own homes in accordance with infection control and governance guidelines, adhering to lone worker policy.

Responsibilities include:

• Obtain venous or capillary blood samples from patients in accordance with trust guidelines in patients' own homes.
• Label and/or bar code specimen bottles accurately, then place samples into appropriately labelled bottles and package for transport to the relevant laboratory.
• Conduct the procedure with proper regard to patient confidentiality and awareness of patient's individual needs.
• Record appropriate information in identified documentation in accordance with local procedures and Trust requirements.

Requirements:

• Community Phlebotomist experience.
• Certificate of competency for Venepuncture.
• Own vehicle and driving licence.
• Proof of immunisations.
• References to cover last 3 years.
