Lived Experience and Volunteer Co-ordinator

Hull Domestic Abuse Partnership (DAP) seeks a Lived Experience and Volunteer Coordinator (Grade6). This part time, permanent position offers a pro rata salary of £15,967-£17,330 and will be filled under Schedule9, Part1 of the Equality Act2010 (women only). The role uses a trauma informed, person centred, strengths based approach to coordinate and support volunteers and people with lived experience of domestic abuse, ensuring survivor voices are safely captured and embedded in service delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and facilitate lived experience involvement activities (forums, panels, co production workshops) and ensure safe, meaningful participation.
- Recruit, induct and support volunteers in line with safer recruitment, safeguarding and equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) standards.
- Deliver or arrange training for volunteers and lived experience participants using trauma informed approaches.
- Undertake risk assessments and ensure all activity complies with safeguarding procedures and confidentiality requirements.
- Provide regular supervision, wellbeing support and performance management for volunteers and participants.
- Translate feedback from lived experience into service improvements and monitor outcomes ("You said, we did").
- Build effective working relationships with partners and stakeholders to support engagement and participation opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and produce reports in line with organisational requirements.
- Support the planning and delivery of inclusive communication, engagement and consultation events.
- Experience of working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse, or within safeguarding services for adults or children.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed practice and strength based approaches.
- Awareness of the Duluth model, coercive control, power imbalances and gender inequality in relation to domestic abuse.
- Ability to engage and empower individuals in a supportive, non judgemental way.
- Strong communication, organisational and partnership working skills.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative effectively.
- Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and relevant legislation.
- Ability to deliver group work programmes.
