What You'll Need

• At least 6 months professional care experience
• NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate
• Confident with medication administration
• Right to work in the UK (we cannot offer visa sponsorship)
• Willingness to commit to 2-4 week rotations

• Good cooking skills

What Is Live-In Care?

Live-in care in Bournemouth is different from working in domiciliary care or a care home. As a live-in carer, you'll stay in your client's home for 2 to 4 weeks, providing support, companionship and care. You'll have your own private bedroom, with all meals provided.

Claire, one of our experienced live-in carers, explains: 'The beauty of this arrangement is that I don't just work in your home; I live in it. No rent or housekeeping worries, just a dedicated focus on your well-being. I share my days with a remarkable 90-year-old lady celebrating life. I do the housekeeping and cook delicious food. The Dorset Apple Cake is her favourite treat! After three weeks of devoted service, I take one week off, whether for a rejuvenating holiday or exploring the charming towns across the UK.'

Your Role as a Live-In Carer

You'll provide high-quality care to clients in their Bournemouth homes, improving their quality of life through personalised support and companionship.

Your daily duties include:

• Personal care - washing, dressing, toileting, maintaining dignity
• Medication administration - safely managing prescriptions and accurate MAR charts
• Meal planning and cooking - preparing nutritious food
• Companionship - meaningful conversations, activities, accompanying to appointments
• Light housekeeping - keeping the home clean and safe
• Shopping and errands - prescriptions, weekly shopping
• Monitoring and communicating - observing health changes and liaising with families

You may care for someone with dementia. You might support someone recovering from a stroke. You could help manage Parkinson's disease. You may provide palliative care.

You might also be a trusted companion. The little things really do make the biggest differences, remembering how someone likes their tea, finding the right music, or being a reassuring presence.
