Job Description
CK Group are seeking a Life Science Engineer, to join our Biotechnology client who provide device asset management services to the healthcare and life science sectors.
A permanent role based fully on-site in Abingdon (Oxfordshire), you will perform and document planned maintenance and repair on research, clinical laboratory and manufacturing equipment such as centrifuges, incubators, freezers, balances, chromatography instruments.
The Role:
You must demonstrate a working knowledge and ability to use the required test equipment. Having an electronic and mechanical knowledge and the ability to interpret and effectively utilise service manuals, schematics and other applicable service information required to perform and document planned maintenance and repair of the specialty equipment and systems would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:
- General troubleshooting - perform planned maintenance, repairs, and other verification services on a variety of laboratory multi-vendor instruments.
- Provides a high level of customer service throughout the maintenance and repair cycle.
- Communicates with equipment end users regularly to discuss the work performed and the results.
- Engages with customers and provides basic instrument services in a timely manner.
- Diagnoses errors/ technical problems, determining effective solutions.
- Collaborates with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
- Provides accurate and timely completion of service reports, expense reports and other administrative tasks.
Your Background:
- Degree in Chemistry/Sciences, Life Sciences, Electronics Technology or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in the service and maintenance of life science research, laboratory or medical equipment (water purification, scales/ balances, centrifuges, freezers/refrigerators, incubators, or equivalent instruments) preferred.
- Laboratory, electronic, mechanical technician or related experience required.
- Experience working in regulated GxP environments.
- Hands-on mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently within the customer location.
