Do you have excellent in-depth knowledge of UK pop, classical, film and TV recording repertoire and are capable of analysing large-scale data reports? Do you have a good working knowledge of music licensing across different media types? You could be the person we are looking for to fill our Licensing Officer vacancy.
The Musicians' Union (MU) is the UK trade union for musicians and represents over 36,500 musicians across the UK working in all sectors of the music business. As well as negotiating on behalf of our members with all the major employers in the industry, we offer a range of support services for professional and student musicians of all ages and backgrounds.
Responsibilities- Facilitate secondary licensing of UK commercial recordings.
- Maintain member awareness of MU licensing services.
- Contribute to the Recording & Broadcasting department in adapting to emerging trends in copyright, artificial intelligence, and global licensing practices.
- Work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good working knowledge of music licensing across different media types.
- Excellent in-depth knowledge of UK pop, classical, film and TV recording repertoire.
- Strong understanding of UK copyright law as it applies to music recordings and performers.
- Experience negotiating licensing fees and terms is desirable.
Salary of £47,795 plus London or Regional Weighting, with excellent staff benefits including a contribution towards a personal pension, flexible working, and access to ongoing training and development. Annual leave entitlement is 30 days, excluding public holidays.
DetailsContract: Full-time, permanent, hybrid basis (working from home and one of our offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Cardiff or Glasgow).
