Licensing Client Partner

The Washington Post's Content Licensing team seeks an entrepreneurial, relationship oriented partner to accelerate global growth and expand innovative AI/data licensing opportunities. The role focuses on building and managing strategic partnerships across designated geographies and verticals.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to drive recurring licensing revenue.
- Identify, prospect, and engage senior decision makers across media, AI/data, financial services, business intelligence, distribution, and enterprise technology sectors.
- Lead consultative sales cycles from discovery through negotiation, contracting, and onboarding coordination.
- Build and maintain executive level relationships with strategic partners and prospective clients.
- Collaborate cross functionally with Legal, Product, Engineering, Editorial, Finance, and PR/Communications teams to support complex partnership opportunities.
- Manage pipeline visibility, opportunity tracking, forecasting, and account activity within Salesforce.
- Support renewal and expansion discussions within assigned strategic accounts.
- Represent The Washington Post at industry conferences, networking events, and partner meetings.
- Monitor emerging industry trends, competitive activity, and evolving AI/data licensing opportunities to support business growth.
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, licensing, media, business intelligence, SaaS, data, or related industries.
- Proven track record of driving new business development and managing complex consultative sales cycles.
- Strong relationship building and executive communication skills.
- Experience navigating multi stakeholder enterprise negotiations and extended sales cycles (3-12months).
- Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities across regions and industries.
- Interest in media, AI/data licensing, enterprise partnerships, and emerging technology ecosystems.
- International business development experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
On site, Washington D.C. office (five days a week with occasional business travel).
