Library Assistant, Bibliographic Services (Internal)

The role involves processing and maintaining stock in our central store and managing specialist stock collections, such as reading groups, music scores and care homes. The work is varied, including the physical sorting of stock in transit between libraries, and computer-based work such as answering enquiries from library staff by email and telephone.

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have good customer service and communication skills
• Have ICT skills and an interest in further development
• Work well in a team
• Are self motivated
• Can undertake manual handling tasks
• Are willing to learn and undertake training as required

Our Bibliographic Library Assistants are part of a proactive, self motivated and flexible team working to deliver services that support front line library staff.

Weds 9.30am - 5pm, Thurs 9am - 5pm, Fri 9am - 5pm

This vacancy is fixed term until 01 January 2027 and is eligible for a secondment pending approval of the candidate's current line manager.
