Job Description

where you will be allocated your "own" vehicle, have the occassional night awayWe're looking for professional HGV ClassC Drivers to join our team in Leicester, supporting a busy transport operation delivering to customers across the UK. This is a permanent opportunity offering full-time stability, a 5 day working week from Monday to Friday. You will be allocated your "Own" Vehicle, have the occassional night away and the chance to be part of a supportive transport team where safe driving, reliability and high standards are valued every day.

Shift patterns

• Monday to Friday (Day shifts only)
• Variable starting and finishing times (Not a 9-5 position)

Pay rates

Salary up to £35,000pa including bonuses.

What you'll be doing:

• Carry out safe, professional deliveries to customer premises across the UK.
• The role includes a delivery to a mix of Distribution Centres , Building Sites, Farms and Warehouses etc.
• Report to the Transport team at the start of each shift and keep them updated on delays, delivery issues or load discrepancies.
• Complete all paperwork accurately and ensure PODs are signed and returned to the Transport Office.
• Follow company procedures, including health, safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage your working time in line with the Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects correctly and take responsibility for your vehicle.
• Maintain a professional standard of behaviour, appearance and customer service at all times.
• Observe and adhere to site procedures at each delivery & collection point
• Ensure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer Services
• Any other duties as reasonably required

Qualifications

• Possession of LGV Class C Licence and valid DCPC
• Minimum 6 months experience driving Class C experience preferred.
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Adaptable and methodical approach to work/ training
• Conscientious and reliable
• Professional and approachable
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
• Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines
• Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours
