Job Description

Dowdales School are looking to recruit two Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprentices to join their team in September!

In this role you will support teachers and other teaching assistants in the delivery of a range of learning/skills and/or personal/practical support to meet needs and/or well-being for individuals and/or groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and provide particular support for students, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
  • Establish constructive relationships with students and interact with them according to individual needs.
  • Encourage students to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher.
  • Provide clerical/admin support.
  • Assist with learning activities.
  • Monitor students' responses to learning activities and accurately record/achievement/progress as directed.
  • Provide detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students' achievement, progress, problems etc.
  • Support the use of ICT in learning activities and develop students' competence and independence in its use.
  • Undertake structured and agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to student responses.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required.
  • Accompany teaching staff and students on visits, trips and out of school activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the teacher.

  • Excellent organisational skills.

Maths and English GCSE or equivalent Grade C/4 or above.Working hoursMonday-Friday 8.30am-3.30pm
