Reed Education Cheltenham is delighted to be recruiting for a Deputy Nursery Manager to join a warm, welcoming, and high-quality nursery setting located in Cheltenham town centre.

About the Role - Deputy Manager Cheltenham

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the setting, ensuring high standards of care, education, and safeguarding are consistently delivered.

You will play a key role in leading the team, inspiring best practice, and creating a positive, nurturing environment where both children and staff can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with daily operations and leadership
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire a team of Early Years Practitioners
  • Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum to a high standard
  • Act as a role model of outstanding practice within the setting
  • Assist with staff development, coaching, and mentoring
  • Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance are always met
  • Build positive relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community
  • Step into the Manager role when required

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Early Years / Childcare
  • Strong experience within an EYFS nursery setting
  • Proven leadership potential or experience (Room Leaders welcome)
  • Confident decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive, organised, and positive approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for leading teams and supporting children's development
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
