Job Description

Job Title: Female Leisure Cleaner (Changing Rooms & Poolside Focus)

Location: Leisure Club

Reports To: Leisure Manager / Leisure Operations Manager

Job Purpose: To maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation within the leisure club, with a primary focus on female changing rooms and poolside areas. The role ensures members feel comfortable, safe, and confident in the cleanliness of all facilities, particularly in high-use wet areas.

Key Responsibilities Specialist Cleaning - Female Changing Rooms
  • Clean and maintain female changing rooms to a high standard at all times
  • Ensure privacy, discretion, and professionalism when working in occupied areas
  • Regularly check and replenish toiletries, paper products, and supplies
  • Clean showers, toilets, lockers, mirrors, floors, and vanity areas
Poolside & Wet Area Cleaning
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of poolside areas, ensuring safe, slip free surfaces
  • Regularly clean surrounding tiles, drainage areas, and seating
  • Monitor water spillages and respond promptly to reduce hazards
  • Work in line with health and safety procedures specific to wet environments
General Cleaning Duties
  • Clean communal areas including reception, corridors, studios, and gym spaces
  • Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately
  • Follow daily and periodic cleaning schedules
  • Use cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH guidelines
Health & Safety
  • Follow all health and safety procedures, especially regarding wet floors and chemical use
  • Display appropriate signage (e.g. wet floor signs) while cleaning
  • Report any hazards, maintenance issues, or damages immediately
  • Ensure cleaning equipment is used and stored safely
Member Experience
  • Be polite, respectful, and professional when interacting with members
  • Work efficiently to minimise disruption to members' use of facilities
  • Respond to ad hoc cleaning requests promptly
Skills & Experience
  • Previous cleaning experience preferred (leisure, hospitality, or similar environment)
  • Understanding of hygiene standards, particularly in wet areas
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
Additional Requirement
  • This role requires a female attendant due to the nature of working within female changing areas, ensuring member privacy and comfort
