Key responsibilities of the Leisure Attendant will include:

• Supervise users of the leisure facility, including gym, pool, and communal areas, ensuring safety and adherence to centre rules.
• Act as a lifeguard during pool sessions (where appropriately qualified), responding to emergencies and performing rescues as required.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across the facility, including changing rooms, poolside, and gym areas.
• Set up and dismantle equipment for activities, classes, and events in line with schedules and health & safety standards.
• Carry out regular safety checks of equipment, pool water testing, and inspections, reporting defects or concerns promptly.
• Operate pool plant systems (if qualified), including monitoring chemical levels and filtration processes to ensure water quality and compliance.
• Deliver excellent customer service by assisting users with enquiries, providing information on facilities and memberships.
• Provide basic gym inductions and support users in safe and effective use of gym equipment.
• Support the delivery of group activities, classes, or swimming lessons where appropriate.
• Work as part of a team to maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all visitors.
• Keep accurate records relating to incidents, maintenance, water quality, and daily operations.
• Attend regular training sessions, including lifeguard training and health & safety briefings, to maintain required competencies.

The Ideal Leisure Attendant:

• Proven experience in similar role
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Familiarity with gym equipment and the ability to provide basic user guidance or inductions.
• Pool Plant Operator Certificate (desirable)
• Lifeguard Qualification (desirable)
