Job Description
Legal Secretary - Commercial Property London or Hertfordshire

The firm is open to the successful candidate being based in either the London or Hertfordshire office.

A respected commercial law firm is seeking a Legal Secretary to join its Commercial Property team. The firm is known for its professional, supportive culture and offers a collaborative environment where you can continue developing your skills.

Working hours: 9am-5:30pm (5 days in the office, possible after probation)

Location: London or Hertfordshire

Salary: competitive depending on experience

The Role

The position involves providing comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to fee earners within a busy property department. Typical duties include:

  • Overseeing diary arrangements and booking meetings
  • Preparing, editing and finalising legal documents
  • Managing client correspondence and handling telephone enquiries
  • Supporting the team with dictations and document production
  • Assisting with post-completion processes and Land Registry matters
  • Coordinating file management processes such as opening, closing, ID checks, searches, and preparing document bundles or sales packs
  • Assisting with financial administration, including invoices, payments and ledger checks
Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience in a legal secretarial role (property experience highly desired)
  • Strong organisational abilities and accuracy in work
  • Confidence managing multiple tasks within a time-sensitive environment
  • Solid IT skills, particularly across MS Office and document management systems
  • Clear and professional communication skills
  • A flexible, proactive approach and the ability to work effectively within a team
