Job Description
Legal Degree Apprenticeship - A & L Goodbody

Our four-year programme, delivered in partnership with Ulster University, offers an alternative route into the legal profession. You'll work part-time within our Belfast office while studying for your degree, gaining practical experience, developing legal skills, and earning as you learn.

As a legal apprentice at ALG, you can expect to receive excellent training in the practical application of the law from the moment you begin your career with us. As you enter the profession with us, we invest in your ongoing development as a lawyer because we know how important it is to reach your full potential.

As an apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to discover which areas of law interest and engage you most. Some people are born litigators, others love the dynamics of a commercial deal, and some absorb themselves in employment law or restructuring. Our apprenticeship route is designed to encourage and develop every person's unique qualities. As such, you will have the opportunity to work within our main departments: Corporate and M&A, Disputes & Investigations, Finance, and Real Estate. You will also receive training, development, and mentorship to apply to your studies along the way.

This programme is open to candidates who have already achieved, or are due to achieve, AAB in their A-levels (or equivalent qualifications/UCAS points).

Applications for our 2026 Degree Apprenticeship Programme are now open. Click the link below to apply. Applications close at 5pm on Friday 15 May.

You will be notified if you have been successful in progressing to interview by 22 May 2026.

Interviews will take place across the weeks commencing 1 and 15 June 2026, so please keep these dates free where possible.

This year's programme will commence on 7 September 2026.
