Our client, a global leading venture capital fund, is currently seeking to hire a Legal Counsel for its London team. The fund, which invests across multiple technology sectors, has been on a phenomenal growth phase over the past five years and are not slowing down. The business is currently planning to double down on its best performing strategies along with launching a number of new ones in the near future. The firm has a global presence with multiple offices and is very well regarded in its sector. Due to this continued growth, the firm is now looking to make the addition of a mid-level venture capital lawyer to its London team to predominately focus on transactions.
What the job involvesWithin the role, your primary responsibility will be advising on the firm's VC and growth investment transactions from start to finish, partnering closely with the investment team and external counsel. Alongside the deals, you will also have the opportunity to support the firm's General Counsel and senior operations team on a variety of broader legal and strategic matters. This is a fantastic and rare opportunity for a mid-level lawyer with significant venture capital investment transaction experience, gained either in private practice or in-house, who is looking to take the next step in their career and join an industry leader.
- Advise on venture capital and growth equity investments from start to finish
- Review, negotiate, and manage investment and transaction documentation
- Support portfolio company matters, including follow-on financings, M&A and exits
- Manage external legal counsel across multiple jurisdictions and coordinate legal workstreams with internal stakeholders
- Take ownership of transaction legal workstreams
- Mid-level lawyer with significant venture capital transaction experience gained in private practice or in-house
- Knowledge of venture capital toolkits and necessary market documentation
- Proven strong drafting, negotiation, and project management skills
- Comfortable leading on transactions and liaising with necessary stakeholders
- A hands-on attitude and confidence to operate with autonomy
