We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Legal Assistant to join a busy Private Client department in Harrogate on a part time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a professional office environment and supporting fee earners with high quality document production and client communication.
The RoleYou will play a key part in the day to day running of the department, ensuring documents are produced efficiently and presented to a high standard, and that clients receive a professional and responsive service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Audio and copy typing using digital dictation
- Preparing legal documents, correspondence and bills
- Managing diaries and arranging appointments
- Handling telephone enquiries within agreed guidelines
- Liaising with clients and third parties
- Filing and general administrative duties
- Supporting reception when required
- Assisting colleagues and providing cover during absence
- Preparing instructions for accounts and outgoing post
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent word processing and audio typing ability
- A confident and professional telephone manner
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Experience working in an office environment
Previous experience as a Legal Secretary is advantageous but not essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel, is required. This is a varied and rewarding position within a supportive and professional team environment. It would suit someone organised, adaptable and keen to contribute to the smooth running of a busy Private Client department.
