Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum (DOE)


Apple Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Northern Ireland law firm for a Legal Administrator to join its established Wills & Probate team in Belfast city centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and professional administrator to join a highly respected legal practice and play a key role in supporting a Solicitor. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative support, ensuring the smooth and efficient management of client matters within a busy and rewarding practice area.

This opportunity may particularly suit a Law graduate seeking to develop a career within Private Client law or an experienced Legal Administrator with knowledge of Wills and Probate matters.

The Role

Reporting directly to a Solicitor within the Wills & Probate team, the Legal Administrator will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative and client support across a range of private client matters.

The role requires excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload while maintaining a professional and confidential approach.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to a Solicitor specialising in Wills and Probate matters.
  • Preparing legal correspondence, documents and reports.
  • Managing client files, ensuring all documentation is accurately maintained and filed.
  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, financial institutions and third parties in a professional manner.
  • Coordinating appointments, meetings and diary management.
  • Handling incoming calls, emails and correspondence.
  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of probate applications and related documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating case management systems.
  • Supporting the billing process and file closing procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with firm procedures, regulatory requirements and data protection standards.

The Person

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience working within a legal environment, ideally supporting a Solicitor, Partner or fee earner.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive client information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent client care and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Criteria

  • A degree in Law or a related legal qualification.
  • Knowledge of Wills, Probate and Private Client work.
  • Previous experience within a Wills & Probate, Private Client or Conveyancing department.
  • Experience using legal case management systems.
  • Experience preparing legal documentation and correspondence.
  • Knowledge of probate applications and estate administration processes.
