What do we need?

We are looking to recruit an experienced Legal Administration Supervisor to join our growing Court of Protection Administration team. This role is ideal for someone with strong office-based administrative experience, a good understanding of billing processes, and experience supporting teams in a professional environment.

You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the administration function, oversee workflows and processes, and provide high-quality support to the wider team, contributing to the smooth running and continued success of the firm.

Overview

The Legal Administration Supervisor will take overall responsibility for the effective management, development, and performance of the administration function within the Court of Protection department. This is a senior operational role, focused on driving efficient working practices, overseeing billing and administrative processes, and ensuring the team provides a consistently high standard of support to fee earners and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and develop the legal administration team, acting as the senior point of escalation for queries or issues.
  • Oversee day-to-day operational delivery, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and prioritised across the team.
  • Take ownership of departmental administrative processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, efficiency and best practice.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of billing and invoicing processes, ensuring procedures are followed accurately and consistently.
  • Allocate tasks appropriately and monitor performance, output and service levels.
  • Provide coaching, guidance and support to team members, proactively addressing training and development needs.
  • Work closely with the Head of Department on people management matters, including performance, recruitment, onboarding and development.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of personal development objectives for team members.
  • Lead by example, promoting a professional, positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Promote high standards of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail across the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of office-based and administrative procedures.
What we're looking for
  • Proven experience working in an office-based administrative or support role, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of billing and invoicing processes (legal sector experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Previous experience in a supervisory, managerial or senior administrative role is highly desirable.
  • Background in roles such as Legal Secretary, Office Supervisor, Office Assistant, or Senior Administrator would be well suited.
  • Confident working in an office environment and happy with a predominantly office-based role.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear, professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of processes and outcomes.
  • A collaborative team player with the confidence to lead and make decisions.
