An opportunity has arisen in the Institute of Policing and Justice at University of Staffordshire for a temporary part time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Policing. We are interested in people passionate about their subject area and whose enthusiasm can inspire our students. We would like to hear from people with expertise in Policing with specific specialisms in Roads policing; Community policing and Professional standards. Knowledge and expertise of academic study skills and social science research methods are also sought.
You will be part of a collegiate team which delivers an exciting, vocationally led and research informed undergraduate curriculum, namely our BSc (Hons) Policing and Criminal Investigation and our College of Policing licensed BSc (Hons) Professional Policing. Teaching is delivered face to face for all of our programmes to students who are not already employed by the police service.
You will have experience in one or more of the key areas listed above, either from professional practice or an academic perspective. Ideally you will have experience of teaching and learning in Higher Education, including use of VLEs, and student mentoring. You will have experience of, or show willingness to take part in, the full range of the team's activities such as recruitment and outreach.

Main responsibilities- Contribute to the development and delivery of high quality academic provision across undergraduate programmes within Policing
- To undertake teaching and teaching related activities across programmes within the area.
- Provide academic and pastoral support for students across a range of levels and/or programmes
- Contribute to curriculum development, enhancement and quality assurance processes across the provision
- Contribute to University led and/or School initiatives in line with strategic priorities and business development plans
