WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

To become a Plumbing Lecturer in our Construction department, we need someone who is committed, adaptable and passionate about sharing their skills and experience in Further Education.

The successful candidate will have the chance to acquire new skills and develop their abilities in a wide range of activities.

This position is based at our Worcester campus, all applicants must be prepared to travel to our other campuses or surrounding areas as required.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
  • To teach across a range of programmes in Plumbing and associated areas.
  • To develop further courses in Plumbing and associated areas.
  • To take an active part in the recruitment of learners providing appropriate advice and guidance.
  • To deliver high quality teaching and learning by:
    • Providing students with a planned learning and assessment experience.
    • Effectively managing and monitoring the learning process.
    • Proving regular assessment opportunities.
    • Providing timely and constructive feedback.
    • Guiding and supporting learners to achieve their learning goals.
  • To support, and where appropriate, contextualise and/or 'signpost' Functional Skills in the curriculum.
  • To actively develop and use new technology in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • To provide assignment and assessment material appropriate to each specific programme.
  • To ensure effective co ordination of curriculum in the study centres.
  • To produce schemes of work, lesson plans, individual learning plans and assessment schedules etc. appropriate to the curriculum area.
  • To evaluate and assess (formative and summative) the work of learners in relation to the curriculum criteria and provide timely constructive and helpful learner feedback.
  • To attend curriculum meetings and to contribute to the continual quality improvement mechanisms (e.g., maintenance of course files, timely updating of e ILPs on ProMonitor).
  • To keep accurate and effective systems of administration which support the student and College needs, including management and maintenance of learner ILPs, progress and performance records.
  • Where appropriate, liaison with other departments (e.g., Exams and MIS).
  • To ensure safe working practices across the programme area.

AIM AND PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The purpose of the role is: To be responsible for flexible and proactive delivery of an agreed teaching programme in Plumbing and other related areas.
