Job Summary: We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Music (Songwriting) with experience of the music industry and higher education to join our School of Music.

Job Description

The post holder will directly report to our Head of Music (Creative & Technical) and will teach music and related subjects to students enrolled on a range of courses, manage modules or parts of courses as required and assess students by the formal or informal methods required by external examining bodies and internal procedures.

In addition, you will contribute to curriculum innovation, development and implementation, assist in the implementation of pastoral and welfare systems provided for students and continue personal and professional development in the areas of both subject knowledge and teaching methods.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification, and a comprehensive knowledge of songwriting pedagogy, methodology and theory. You will be student-focused, building a supportive and creative environment for students to develop their skills in a practice-based learning environment, with a strong commitment to preparing students for sustained employment.
