Location: Hull

Working Hours: 17.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £26,772- £40,052 FTE per annum (Actual Salary: £13,386 - £20,026 per annum)

Annual Leave: 25 days per annum

As our Lecturer in Arts & Humanities (14-16 College), you will work primarily with students in the 14-16 College, supporting them across a range of courses to achieve their programme of study. The post-holder will need to be innovative in teaching methods and responsible for aspects of leadership within the curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Deliver teaching and learning, ensuring stretch, challenge and engagement of students of all ages and abilities.
• Collation and submission of financial claims as required to appropriate funding bodies and partners.
• Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials, using Canvas.
• Lead, coordinate and support course activities to support the achievement of curriculum area targets, accurately carrying out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner.
• Facilitate academic tutorials for students.
• Assist in marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students, including attending open events, school tasters and enrolment events.
• Assess, monitor, and record feedback to students to facilitate their best achievement using the College's data systems and processes, working to exam board guidelines and quality systems.
• Support IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area.
• Contribute to the quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area.
• Attend meetings and communicate with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/vocational updating.

Qualifications

• Subject specialism.
• Cert. Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards.
• GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English.
• Professional development within industry.
• Able to work as a professional team member and liaise with tutors, employers, awarding bodies and other agencies.
• Able to work with students of all ages in classroom, workshop and one-to-one situations, including students from Hull College School.
• Strong oral, written and presentation skills.
• Digital proficiency; new staff should be skilled or open to training.
