Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of animal professionals? Do you thrive in a dynamic, forward thinking educational environment? Capel Manor College is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Animal Management, with a particular focus on Higher Education programmes as well as our Further Education provisions, to join our growing academic team.
Our School of Animal Management is one of the most diverse and innovative in the region. We deliver an extensive range of courses, from Level 1 through to Level 3 Animal Management, to Access to Higher Education Diplomas in Veterinary Science and Animal Science & Welfare. We also provide a well established Keeper and Aquarist Apprenticeship, as well as specialist Higher Education pathways including Animal Management and Zoology. You'll play a key role in shaping the experience of learners across both FE and HE provision, supporting students as they begin their journey into the animal care industry or progress into advanced study and research. Across our campuses, learners benefit from an extensive and continually developing animal collection featuring exotic species, companion animals, birds and farm livestock. This rich teaching resource provides an authentic platform for practical skills, research, behavioural observation and real world application.
The post holder will deliver high quality teaching across the College's Animal Management programmes, ensuring students receive an engaging and effective learning experience. This includes planning and delivering stimulating lessons, setting ambitious and achievable goals for all learners, monitoring progress, providing constructive feedback, and modelling the positive attitudes and professional behaviours expected within the sector.
Applicants should hold a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in an animal related discipline, science or associated subject. We also strongly encourage applications from individuals with substantial industry experience who are keen to share their knowledge and real world expertise. Whether you are an experienced lecturer or a sector professional looking to move into education, if you are enthusiastic, able to inspire and challenge learners, and passionate about developing students' curiosity and love of learning, we would be delighted to hear from you.
