Permanent, Part Time (0.6)

21.6 hours per week over 52 weeks a year.

The School of Vocational and Technical Studies (VTS) at South Thames College is seeking a qualified and experienced Health and Social Care Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to students, aiming to maximize achievement and continuous improvement.

You will support curriculum development through employer engagement and learner skills development. Your role includes developing, initiating, promoting, and maintaining innovative and quality improvement strategies. You will select appropriate assessment methods, assess student work and progress against set criteria, and provide constructive feedback. Reflecting on teaching design and delivery, as well as analyzing feedback, will be essential to enhance performance.

We seek candidates who hold a teaching qualification (or are willing to obtain one), possess a relevant degree in Health and Social Care, and have teaching experience in Health and Social Care within an FE College. A proven track record in tutoring, supporting learners, and setting and reviewing targets is essential. You should demonstrate outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment skills, along with effective employer engagement in curriculum design and delivery.

You should have a solid understanding of current frameworks for teaching, learning, assessment, and quality assurance, with interdisciplinary skills and experience. Advanced computer literacy and proficiency with office software are required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and meet strict deadlines are also necessary.
