Learning Support Officer

Gateshead College is seeking a Learning Support Officer to work with students on a one-to-one and group basis, supporting them to access mainstream, supported curriculum areas and work experience and helping them to achieve and exceed their goals and ambitions at college.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Motivating, supporting and guiding students through their learning journey.
• Developing support plans and learning strategies alongside curriculum staff.
• Managing complex behaviours and ensuring learners are on track with their work and making progress against their Education Health Care Plan outcomes.
• Playing a key role in helping students get the most out of their experience at Gateshead College.

Requirements:

• Passionate about delivering high-quality support and helping students build confidence and skills.
• Experience working with young people with special educational needs and autism is desirable but not essential.

Job Details

• Salary: £22,084 leading to £23,391 per annum.
• Hours: Contractual 37 basis full time.
• Region: North.
• Package: Fixed term until July 2027 (term time on over 36 weeks).
• Position type: Non Teaching.
