Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

Canterbury Full-time Term Time Only Competitive daily rate

Academics are currently recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Canterbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

This role would suit individuals with experience in:

• Education (LSA, TA, Cover Supervisor etc.)

• Social care or youth work

• Residential or foster home settings

• Mental health support roles

• Behaviour support or alternative provision

• Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 and small group basis

• Building positive, consistent relationships with vulnerable young people

• Helping to regulate behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing

• Supporting students both inside and outside of the classroom

• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement support plans

• Resilient, calm and confident in challenging situations

• Able to build trust and rapport quickly

• Passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people

• Previous experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs

• A strong team player with a proactive attitude

£90 - £95 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only
