Learning Support Assistant

South West/ permanent / £14.00 - 14.25 per hour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist college in Bournemouth, supporting young people aged 16-25 with a range of additional needs. The setting promotes independence, life skills and a supportive, inclusive environment where students are encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The college is looking to take on a dedicated Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, leading to a permanent position for the right candidate. The successful Learning Support Assistant will work on a 1-1 basis with neurodivergent students, providing tailored support in Maths and English, alongside encouraging engagement, independence and positive behaviours.

• Experience supporting young people with SEND, particularly neurodivergent needs
• Previous experience supporting Maths and English at functional skills or GCSE level
• A relevant qualification in education, support or care (desirable)
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A patient, adaptable and supportive approach
• A 'can-do' attitude and willingness to get involved

The successful applicant will be paid on a PAYE basis, ensuring the correct level of tax and National Insurance contributions.
