EduTalent Group is supporting a school in Tonbridge seeking a Teaching Assistant to work closely with class teachers in supporting pupils' learning, behaviour, and personal development. The role involves working one-to-one or with small groups, assisting with therapeutic, behavioural, and personal care needs, and helping pupils achieve their individual learning targets.

Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering learning activities and helping pupils meet their targets
  • Assist with pupils' personal care, safety, and wellbeing
  • Implement behaviour management strategies for pupils with additional needs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised classroom environment
  • Support pupils during off-site activities such as trips and swimming
  • Provide clerical and administrative support, including record keeping and liaising with therapists
  • Adapt learning support to meet individual pupil needs
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil progress
  • Attend training, induction programmes, and relevant meetings
  • Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies
Requirements
  • GCSEs in English and Maths grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with children, ideally with Additional Educational Needs
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and confidentiality policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
  • Patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, experience in special education, and understanding of therapeutic strategies
