EduTalent Group is supporting a school in Tonbridge seeking a Teaching Assistant to work closely with class teachers in supporting pupils' learning, behaviour, and personal development. The role involves working one-to-one or with small groups, assisting with therapeutic, behavioural, and personal care needs, and helping pupils achieve their individual learning targets.
Responsibilities- Support the class teacher in delivering learning activities and helping pupils meet their targets
- Assist with pupils' personal care, safety, and wellbeing
- Implement behaviour management strategies for pupils with additional needs
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised classroom environment
- Support pupils during off-site activities such as trips and swimming
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including record keeping and liaising with therapists
- Adapt learning support to meet individual pupil needs
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support pupil progress
- Attend training, induction programmes, and relevant meetings
- Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality policies
- GCSEs in English and Maths grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working with children, ideally with Additional Educational Needs
- Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and confidentiality policies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Patience, flexibility, and a proactive approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
- Desirable: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, experience in special education, and understanding of therapeutic strategies
