Learning Support Assistant (September 2026)Location: Kingston, LondonPosition: Full-Time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and caring Learning Support Assistant to join our vibrant school community in Kingston. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work collaboratively with teachers and school staff to provide personalised support, helping pupils engage confidently in their learning and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small-group support for pupils with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), dyslexia, and a range of additional learning needs.
  • Support teachers in delivering adapted lessons tailored to meet individual student requirements.
  • Assist pupils with personal care where needed, while encouraging independence, social interaction, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Help students develop communication, literacy, numeracy, and classroom participation skills.
  • Track student progress and share feedback with teaching staff and parents when appropriate.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN is desirable.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for helping children succeed in their education.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive, positive approach.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.
