Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Location: Oakfield House School, Salwick PR4 0YH
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum ( not pro rata )
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.00pm
Contract: Permanent Term Time Only
Start: February 2026

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers to provide personalised support that enables pupils with complex needs to thrive. You'll assist with lessons, provide one-to-one and small group support, and help create a safe, respectful, and empowering environment where every pupil can achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored learning support to individual pupils and small groups
  • Assist with classroom preparation and lesson delivery
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
  • Monitor and report pupil progress to inform planning and review
  • Promote safeguarding and ensure pupil welfare at all times

About You

You will have:

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • Motivation to support pupils' academic, social, and personal development
  • Experience in SEN or ASC settings is desirable but not essential

Set in a beautiful 1880s country house with eight acres of parkland, we provide a nurturing and supportive environment.
