Location: Fieldstone School, Devon, TQ12 1NH
Salary: £22,160.62 per annum ( not pro rata )
Contract: Permanent; Term Time Only
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
Start: November 2025

We're seeking a compassionate and committed Learning Support Assistant to join Fieldstone School, a rapidly growing specialist school supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work under the guidance of the Deputy Principal and class teachers to deliver person-centred learning programmes tailored to individual needs.
Your role will involve one-to-one and small-group support, helping students engage with learning, develop life skills, and thrive in a structured, nurturing environment.

A full induction programme and ongoing professional development will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning programmes for pupils with SEMH needs
• Provide general classroom support, helping to manage behaviour and engagement
• Help create and maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Support pupils' emotional and social development, encouraging independence and confidence
• Contribute to the safeguarding and welfare of all students
• Undertake clerical and administrative tasks to support teaching and learning activities

What We're Looking For

• GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above)
• Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
• Experience supporting pupils with additional or SEMH needs
• A team player with strong communication and organisational skills
• Able to work independently and proactively in a busy school environment
• Knowledge or training in relevant teaching and learning strategies (desirable)

Fieldstone School is an independent day school, supporting the most vulnerable young people in society aged 5-16; those children who do not find it easy to fit into existing educational provision. This can be for many reasons, including a range of behavioural, emotional and educational challenges, exacerbated by being on the autistic spectrum. You'll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay, giving you more time to do the things that make you happy. 4DWW is subject to successful completion of probation and is not a contractual benefit
