Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - SEND SchoolBirmingham Full-Time Immediate Start / September Start AvailableAre you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs?We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and specialist school in Birmingham for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support pupils with Autism, SEMH needs, communication difficulties and complex learning needs.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is caring, resilient and committed to helping children thrive both academically and personally in a highly supportive environment.The Role:As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and wider professionals to provide tailored support to pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, build confidence and achieve their individual targets.You will support pupils both inside and outside the classroom, helping to create a safe, engaging and positive learning environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEND including Autism, SEMH and complex needs
- Deliver learning support on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
- Adapt resources and tasks to meet individual needs
- Support communication, emotional regulation and social development
- Monitor progress and contribute to pupil records
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff
- Help maintain a safe, nurturing and structured environment
- Experience working with children or young people in a school, care or support setting
- Experience supporting SEND, Autism, SEMH or additional needs is highly desirable
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for helping children succeed
- Relevant TA / LSA qualifications are desirable but not essential with experience
