Job Description

We are delighted to be preparing for the launch of a brand-new veterinary hospital in Hull, further expanding our services across Yorkshire. Our new Hull hospital will enable us to provide affordable, high-quality veterinary care to even more pets and their owners across East Yorkshire. Hull will be set to open its doors in January 2027.

Animal Trust is an independently owned, not for profit Community Interest Company (CIC) providing accessible, affordable, high quality veterinary care. Operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, our hospital will offer continuous patient care and emergency services, supporting both our clients and the wider veterinary community.

Our commitment to affordability sets us apart. With free consultations during the day and £79 out of hours consultations, we remove barriers that can prevent pet owners from seeking veterinary advice. Combined with our transparent packaged pricing, this allows us to see a varied and rewarding caseload, providing excellent opportunities for our clinical teams to develop their skills and experience.

About You
  • Clinical Expertise: possess a strong clinical skillset with a passion for coaching and mentoring.
  • Communication Skills: demonstrate exceptional communication skills, both with clients and the veterinary team.
  • VetGDP Qualification: hold or be eager to obtain a VetGDP qualification.
  • Business Acumen: while preferred, it is not essential. We welcome individuals interested in assessing business KPIs and P&L.
  • Management Experience: have experience in performing 1 2 1 meetings and conducting performance management.
  • Confident Leadership: be confident in leading staff meetings and clinical governance meetings.
Responsibilities

A Lead Veterinary Surgeon will guide our team of vets, ensuring that high standards of clinical care are met through coaching and mentoring. You will be jointly responsible for embedding the Animal Trust Values, creating a caring and nurturing working environment. Working closely with our Practice Manager and Lead Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in the day to day operations of the clinic. Your responsibilities will extend to evaluating clinic KPIs and P&L, ensuring optimal performance and the continued success of the hospital.
