Lead Theatre Practitioner - Recovery & Anaesthetics

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £47,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Lead Theatre Practitioner to join their team of staff in the theatre department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative pathway, acting as a specialist or functional lead within the team.
  • Ensure that all patient safety checks, including WHO surgical safety processes, are carried out in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Provide day to day leadership and supervision for theatre practitioners and support staff, fostering a culture of professionalism, compassion, and accountability.
  • Support the development and assessment of competencies within the team, promoting continuous professional development.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring their rights, safety, and dignity are upheld at all times.
  • Raise concerns where standards of care or safeguarding protocols are not met, in line with Circle Health Group policy.
Qualifications
  • NMC or HCPC registered practitioner with significant experience in a theatre environment (Recovery & Anaesthetics).
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership experience and ability to act as a role model to peers.
  • Strong understanding of patient safety protocols, safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance.
  • Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification for scrub leads .
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course.
  • Approved / recognised anaesthetic course.
