Lead Technology Development Engineer -

Job Title: Lead Technology Development Engineer

Location: Warton/Samlesbury - We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £54,793+ depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing:

Engaging with internal and external customers and technologists to lead and drive the support technology strategy

Capture of requirements and use cases that that will drive the need for innovation and technology exploitation to drive business benefit

Identify funding opportunities across the business for research and developing exciting proposals for technology development programmes

Generation of collaborative programmes, and identification of opportunities for funding, with key external partners, suppliers, SME's

Interface between BAE Systems and external research organisations on support technology research

Your skills and experiences:

Knowledge and experience of digital technology development and approaches including utilisation of Cloud infrastructure

Experience of technology capability insertion from concept through to deployment

Highly collaborative, with a willingness to embrace innovative approaches and constructively challenge the status-quo

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Programming (e.g Python) experience

Awareness of civil aircraft operations

Knowledge/experience of working in a DevSecOps development framework

The Technology Development for Support and Training team:

As part of Future Air In-Service support strategy there are exciting opportunities to get involved with development and delivery of transformative technologies that could help the In-Service Support Operations for our Aircraft be smarter and faster as well as providing greener, sustainable solutions.

Key in our technology strategy is an end-to-end digital by default approach, from manufacture on the factory floor thorough to the Inservice Support in the operational environment and creating agility, effectiveness and efficiency across all aspect of the services and products we define and operate. Whether that's opportunities related to area such as the utilisation of AI, looking at approaches for building digital twins of our vehicles and services or technology developments within a human/ machine team environment.
