Lead Statutory Reporting Financial Accountant for a global firm based in Canary Wharf, London.
Total compensation including bonus, pension, etc.: Circa £100,000 per annum.
The role is primarily based in the office at Canary Wharf. The company offers a 9-day fortnight (every second Friday off as holiday).
Reporting to the Manager UK & HQ Financial Accounting, this individual will provide financial accounting services to the company's Europe business, ensuring compliance with UK statutory reporting and internal deadlines. Responsibilities include ad hoc reporting, project participation, and managerial support.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare statutory accounts for UK entities, liaising with auditors (KPMG) and coordinating audit responses.
- Research and apply UK GAAP (FRS102), posting adjustments in SAP.
- Lead in interim and year-end SOX audits, preparing schedules and liaising with KPMG.
- Ensure timely internal reporting to US headquarters, including benefit analysis and tax reports.
- Perform month-end close activities, including accruals, amortizations, payroll accounting, and currency revaluations.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, follow up on open items.
- Review SAP accounting entries and variances for data integrity.
- Support ad hoc statutory and analytical tasks, representing the team in projects.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Degree educated and qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102).
- 5+ years experience in financial accounting and statutory reporting, in practice or industry.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Advanced Excel & SAP skills; Thomson Reuters OneSource experience preferred but not essential.
